The shush and suspense stems from Paws Pet Boutique's third annual Halloween party, which will be held tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the store's new location at 106 Main St. There will be four-legged hobos and poodles in tutus.Judging for the pet costume contest will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Goldsmith said. The six categories include scariest, funniest, prettiest, most original, best duo (two pets) and closest resemblance to owner. Goldsmith plans to hand Halloween toys and treats to the winners.In addition, the costumed canines and cats will participate in a parade from the front of Paws Pet Boutique to the stone church on Main Street, she said.About 11 percent of Americans will dress up their pets for the spooky holiday, according to the National Retail Federation's Halloween Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey."I think that number is low, especially for this area," said Gail Tufts, who attended last year's event with her toy poodle, Shelby, dressed as a bumblebee."You have to know all of us with pets are a little crazy," Tufts said.
